Serahnia - "Battle Mage"
Serahnia gets her good looks from supermodel Sydney Moon who was the inspiration for her appearance.
I spent approximately 15 hours or so on this one, more or less, and used three different pencils. For the line work I used a .5 mechanical pencil, a relatively good pencil for lines as .5 is rather fine and there's no need for sharpening. For the majority of the shading, I used an HB artists' pencil. It has a softer touch and I can stack shadows using it without getting the reflection darkening with normal pencils usually causes. And lastly, I used the .7 mechanical pencil for small areas of darker shading. The lead in a mechanical pencil is darker than an HB pencil so it allowed me to get the slightly darker spots where I needed them. The graphite on paper version of this drawing is a bit smoother as I was unable to fix the contrast problem after I scanned to the computer. I'm sure there are people out there who can apply the correct settings while scanning so this doesn't occur but I figure it shows well enough as is.
